- this is the technique class for you!
In this session, we're going to dive deep into film/tv audition scene work and techniques while thinking through the audition setting. Every other week, you'll get to tackle a new scene from a different genre, all geared toward leveling up your audition game. By the end of these two sessions you'll be able to attack a scene, prepare an audition, cold-read, bring yourself into the present moment and have command over your instrument; ultimately, you'll be building your actor's toolbox. Final class will culminate in front of industry guest.
Julia Peterson
Julia Marie Peterson is a seasoned acting coach, teaching artist and Alexander Technique teacher. Julia is a graduate of the elite programs at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, LAMDA (London) and The Philadelphia School for the Alexander Technique. Julia has been a teaching artist at NYU, LSTFI (Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Production) and theatre programs across the country. Currently, she coaches individuals and principal cast members in film productions. She is honored to be an in-house director at OTR Repertory Company, directing two plays for the 2021/2022 season. Other resident theatre companies include Candle House Collective & Living Lotus. She recently co-starred in the Brazilian blockbuster and Cannes-winning film, Bacurau. www.JuliaMariePeterson.com
