Denise Simon (Director & CEO) is recommended by New York’s top agents, managers and casting directors for her ability to coach young actors without having them look coached. Denise has a gift for speaking the language of young actors as well as a beautiful way of directly communicating – instilling confidence and skill. Her classes and industry workshops attract both established and emerging talent. Renae Baker (Instructor) holds a BFA in Musical Theater from the University of Michigan, and is also an alumna of the National Theatre Institute at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center, where she studied directing as well as acting. As an actor and singer, herself, she has appeared on stage and in film, television, cabaret, concert and music video. Since 1997 she has been the founder/director I S.M.I.L.E. In New York Productions, a company of actors and vocal groups for special events. As an acting coach, Renae has guided her clients into feature films, pilots, episodic television, Broadway, National Tours, regional theatre and music videos. She is also called upon, by film directors, to help shape the performances of their talent on set and behind the scenes. She is recommended by major talent agents and managers as well as directors, teachers and parents of young actors.
Carolyn Miller (Teaching Assistant) — Born and raised on Long Island, Carolyn began working as a professional actress (and studying with Denise Simon!) when she was just 10 years old. Throughout her teens, she appeared on stage, in national commercials, recorded voiceovers, and booked roles on “Law & Order: SVU” and in the film “DareDevil” (starring Ben Affleck). She graduated from the Boston Conservatory in 2011, Cum Laude, receiving a BFA in Musical Theatre with an emphasis in Directing. Her voice can be heard nationally on the radio in “Pepsi” ads, as well as the “Don’t Text and Drive” public service announcements. Jazelle Foster is a Teaching Artist, Director, Actor and Creator of Worthy By Design a young woman’s self worth/esteem program that has an online presence that encourages all women. www.WorthyByDesign.com She enjoys working with youth of any age and being reignited by their creativity. She currently teaches at Actors Connection, acting as a liaison between youth actors and industry professionals.
